From 1998 through 2003, spending on outsourced information technology and services grew at a compound annual rate of 32% over the five-year period, from $2.5 billion to $10 billion. Savings from outsourcing software is estimated to rise from $6.7 billion in 2003 to $20.9 billion in 2008.
